Abstract
A new variable‐frequency EPR method for determining crystal‐field parameters directly from measurements at special magnetic fields is described. The method is applied to trivalent gadolinium in yttrium vanadate and yttrium phosphate. The parameters of the corresponding spin Hamiltonian are given.Keywords
