Abstract
When Henze''s ketol AcCh(OH)CH2Ac is fed to rats or injected subcut. the ability of the adrenals to reduce indophenol increases as much as when the the same amount of ascorbic acid is given. Guinea pigs were not protected from scurvy by the ketol. It is concluded, however, that the ketol is an intermediate in the synthesis of vitamin C in the rat. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
