Abstract
The isolation and separation of bone cells with populations enriched for osteoclastic or osteoblastic phenotypes are described. Such systems offer the opportunity to compare and contrast the controls exerted by hormones, ions, and other agents on the functions of the individual bone cell types and may in the future provide explanations for the changes seen in bone tissue in various diseased states. Keywords
