Abstract
The Hall potential, geometrical correction factor, and magnetoresistance of a square Hall plate were computed for values of Hall tangent up to 0.5. The computations were carried out by a ``difference-equation'' method utilizing a standard computer matrix inversion subroutine. Various square electrode arrays are considered. Point driving electrodes and Hall electrodes at diagonally opposite corners yield computed results essentially identical to a theoretically ideal infinitely long Hall plate. Point interior driving and Hall electrodes, however, show increased magnetoresistance and a Hall voltage decreased from the ideal. Interior finite-area driving electrodes accentuate this trend. The further addition of finite-area interior Hall electrodes did not appreciably alter the necessary Hall voltage correction, or increase the computed magnetoresistance. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
