Abstract
Previous studies have indicated the existance of haemodynamically important structural vascular changes in patients and animals with hypertension. Possible pathophysiological implications of these changes are discussed. Two studies dealing with the question of reversibility of the structural changes on long-term blood pressure lowering therapy are described. The results indicate that the changes are partially but not completely reversible. Keywords
