Abstract
In order to obtain the true value of the injection rate of a diesel engine, the following processes are discussed: (1) the Tokyo Institute of Technology's revolving disc method, developed by the authors, which needs no correction, there being few errors; (2) a newly introduced unsteady flow correction method applied to pressure lift method and impinged momentum method; and (3) these three methods are compared with the W-Bosch long tube method. In conclusion, good results were obtained by precise investigation in the range of application. From these results, the instrumentation technique for real injection rate is established; and from this study Tokyo Institute of Technology's revolving disc method is shown to be a reliable standard calibrator. Keywords
