Occlusion of the Basilar Artery

Abstract
A survey is presented of the reported cases of occlusion of the basilar artery. Two further cases are described. In the two cases the diagnosis of occlusion of the basilar artery was made on the basis of the clinical changes. This was later corroborated by angiography. This type of verification has not been reported previously. In these cases there was agreement between the clinical and the angiographic findings. A survey is included of the angiographic conditions in the territory of the basilar artery, with reference to the anatomic and physiologic variations.
