Blunting of Exercise‐Induced Tachycardia and Renin Release 24 Hours After a Single Dose of Sotalol

Abstract
Sotalol significantly reduces resting and exercise-stimulated heart rate and plasma renin activity 2 h and to a lesser degree 24 h after oral administration of a single 200 mg dose in healthy volunteers. Due to this 24 h .beta.-adrenoceptor blocking effect, sotalol should be suitable for once-daily dosing in clinical practice.
