Abstract
To the Editor: During the past three years, a syndrome of severe opportunistic infection associated with immunodeficiency has been described in male homosexuals.1 2 3 Kaposi's sarcoma has also developed in some of these patients. The syndrome has been attributed to the effects of virus infections or to use of recreational drugs.4 We have recently had the opportunity to study a group of eight ambulatory, relatively healthy male homosexuals with a good performance status and two homosexuals with limited Kaposi's sarcoma, who were also ambulatory and had a good performance status. All had a history of multiple sexually transmitted diseases, other infections, . . .Keywords
