Abstract
An exo-[beta]-N-acetyl-hexosaminindase from bovine spleen homogenate was purified. Several synthetic [beta]-N-acetylglycosaminides and natural glycosides such as oligosacchaxides from chondroitin 4-sulfate-protein, glycopeptides from ovine submaxillaris mucin and mucopeptides from E. coli were found to be substrates for the enzyme. The mode of enzyme action, the influence of activators and competitive and noncompetitive inhibitors were investigated. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
