Abstract
Administration of progesterone to 3 prepubertal patients with congenital galactosemia resulted in a significant increase in ability to oxidize a tracer dose of galactose-1-C14 to C14O2. Furthermore, administration of progesterone to young male rats maintained on high galactose diets causes a delay in the onset and a decrease in the daily incidence of cataract formation. Keywords
