Abstract
Absmrct-Large-scale integrated circuits for many analog and com- bined analog-digital circuit functions are becoming feasible in single- channel and complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor technologies. Experimental results have been reported for analog-todigital rmd digital- to-analog converters, pulse-code modulation voice encoder-decoder% and precision analog sampled-data frequency filters. The key elements in these MOS circuits are precision-ratioed MOS capacitor arrays, MOS transistor analog switche~ internally-compensated operational simpl- ifiers, c)ffset-nulled comparators, and charge-transfer devices, This paper reviews the rapid progress in MOS analog circuit techniques over the past three years, and attempts to estimate the near-term at- tainable characteristics of MOS LSI circuits which incorporate both analog, and digital functions.Keywords
