Abstract
Penicillin was retained in the lungs in a high concn. for 1 hr., and was still detectable for 2 hrs., following a single inhalational dose of 2,000 U. It was present in the serum in effective concns. for 2 hrs. following Inhalation. Streptomycin was retained in the lungs in effective concns. for 3 hrs. following an inhalational dose of 2,300 micro-grams, but it was poorly absorbed from the lungs into the blood stream. Both penicillin and streptomycin were found in the lungs in far greater concns. following inhalational adm. than after intramusc. injn. of similar and even higher doses. Keywords
