Abstract
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women and is the second (after lung cancer) leading cause of cancer deaths in women. Knowledge of breast cancer and its epidemlology, natural course, and response to treatment continue to evolve, making the survival rates for patients with breast cancer more optimistic. Women with breast cancer must decide, in partnership with expert physicians and nurses, what their options are for screening, diagnosis, and treatment. This article provides an overview of options available to women diagnosed with breast cancer. Keywords
