Abstract
Mineral analyses have been made of the seeds of developing Cox's Orange Pippin apples in three seasons. Some results are also given for stems and flesh. There are unexplained variations in the Na content of seeds in that the Na concentration appears to be at a minimum in the three or four weeks near harvest.Changes in mineral composition of the fruit as a whole, though similar in direction, were different in magnitude from those previously reported for fruit from the same source. This further emphasises the marked effect of season on the chemical composition of apples. Keywords
