Entanglement cost of mixed states

Abstract

We show that the entanglement cost of all mixed states belonging to a family of states is 1.5 ebits. This implies that for all those states the entanglement of formation is additive. We also give another single parameter family of states for which the entanglement cost ranges between 1.5 and log_2(3) ebits as a function of the parameter.
