Abstract
Recently, several kinds of catalytic activities have been identified from L‐19 IVS RNA or ‘ribozyme’. In the catalytic process of ribozyme, Mg2+ is required. We investigated the role of Mg2+ by molecular orbital calculation. Based on the results of the calculation, a model for the self‐splicing reaction was constructed. Keywords
