Abstract
We consider a model in which baryon electromagnetic mass differences arise from intrinsic quark-mass differences plus Coulomb and magnetic-moment interactions between quarks. We obtain several inequalities relating the mass splittings of charmed and uncharmed baryons. By making additional assumptions about the properties of the baryon wave functions, we are able to obtain predictions of the electromagnetic mass differences of all charmed baryons belonging to the 120 multiplet of SU(8).Keywords
