Radiative decays of the J/ψ into γπ+π and γK+K

Abstract
The decays J/ψ→γπ+ π and J/ψ→γK+ K, &<2.0 GeV/c2, have been studied. Measurements are presented for B(ψ→γf(1270))B(f(1270)→π+ π), B(ψ→γf(1270))B(f(1270)→π+ π), B(ψ→γf’(1525))B(f’(1525)→K+ K), and B(ψ→γtheta)B(theta(1270)→K+ K). A higher-mass structure is observed in the π+ π channel. The spin of the theta(1720) is established with high confidence. The polarization structure of the f(1270), f’(1525), and theta(1720) have been determined.
