Abstract
The effects of estradiol-17β (E2) and progesterone (P4) on edema and transport of surrogate ova were investigated in oviducts of intact-mated and steroid-supplemented castrate rabbits during the 72 h period following mating or injection of hCG. A supplemental steroid dose regimen was devised for both E2 and P4 that approximated plasma steroid levels observed in the rabbit following coitus. Transport was monitored by observing the movement of glass beads inserted into the ampulla 10 h after mating or hCG injection. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
