Abstract
βγ (circularly polarized) correlation measurements have been made for the T=1 to T=2 beta decays of V48 and Mn52m. The spin sequences permit both Gamow-Teller and Fermi contributions in the transitions: V48[4+(β+)4+(γ1)2+(γ2)0+] and Mn52m[2+(β+)2+(γ)0+]. The Fermi matrix elements |MF|, impurity coefficients |α2(1)|, and Coulomb matrix elements |HC|, all of which must be zero for pure ΔT=1 β transitions, were deduced from the observed asymmetry parameter A, using the well-established VA beta interaction form:
