Abstract
Ovaries of laying hens were extracted with methanol-ethyl ether. The extract was purified by partition between organic solvents. The purified extract was chromatographed on filter paper using an 80% methanol-ligroin system at 34[degree]C. The spot corresponding in position to progesterone was identified by UV spectrophotometry and by fingerprinting with C -labeled progesterone. Keywords
