A Rapid Method of Identifying Particular Barbiturate Derivatives in Small Samples of Blood by Paper Chromatography

Abstract
The method is based on the selective distribution of barbituric acid derivatives between suitably buffered (pH 10 or 10.6)with 20 [image] Na2CO3 and 20 [image] borax) filter paper (Whatman no. 1.) and a chloroform moving phase. At least 13 of the common barbiturate derivatives can be separated by this means.Keywords
