Abstract
Forty-seven teachers of emotionally disturbed children in a midwestern state completed an 88 item checklist, Teachers' Evaluation of Competencies, which was originally used in a study conducted by Mackie, Kvaraceus, and Williams. A comparison was made between the Mackie study and the present study regarding proficiencies and competencies valued by teachers. Four hypotheses and several corollaries were investigated and evaluated. Significant differences were found in all cases. Keywords
