Abstract
Diethylstil-bestrol (DES) was added to monolayer cultures of immature chick oviduct. Within 2-3 days after adding DES to the medium, the predominant cell type began to change from fibroblast-like to epithelioid. This change was associated with increased DNA synthesis in the cultures. The similarity between the changes in in vitro morphology and the proliferative response of oviduct epithelial cells of immature chicks to in vivo administration of DES is noted. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
