Abstract
LYMPHANGIOMA is a rare congenital disease of unknown etiology. It has been called a malformation, a hamartoma, and an embryonic tumor.1,2 Cystic hygroma of the head and neck, with large lymphatic endothelium-lined cysts, is amenable to surgical excision. Cavernous or microcystic lymphangioma, however, is composed of small lymphatic spaces and poses a therapeutic dilemma by its propensity to cause airway and feeding difficulties and by its tendency to recur despite extensive surgery. Keywords
