Abstract
We use quantum-statistical mechanics to calculate the distribution of the spins of the resonances in the dual-resonance model at a fixed high energy squared (). The resonances are concentrated in the region of spin , with the distribution eventually falling off exponentially. The profile function of the Veneziano partial-wave amplitudes is mainly controlled by the spin distribution of the resonances, and not by their individual couplings. This spin distribution is largely similar to that in the statistical model of nuclei.
