Abstract
The authors have evaluated the performance of an optical receiver with polarisation mode dispersion (PMD) for non-return-to-zero (NRZ) and return-to-zero (RZ) signals at 10 Gbit/s, and found that the RZ format is more tolerant to PMD than is the NRZ format.Keywords
