UREMIC POLYNEUROPATHY

Abstract
Two cases of uremic polyneuropathy in a 41 year old man with probable chronic glomerulonephritis, and in a 42 year old man with chronic pyelonephritis are reported. The clinical diagnosis was supported by EMG [electro-myogram] and nerve conduction studies during life. Similarities with previously reported cases, especially those detailed by Asbury, Victor and Adams (1963), are stressed. Distal nerves, large myelinated fibers and lower extremities were most severely affected.
