Abstract
Direct electronic timing has been used to measure the mean life of the 3464-keV state in . The state was populated by the reaction at 10.6 MeV, and the mean life was determined to be 1.00 ± 0.03 nsec. The measured lifetime in conjunction with other -ray angular distributions and previous results allows an assignment of to the level. The transition strengths of the →, →′ and → transitions are compared to those in and to a weak-coupling calculation.
