Abstract
Laser-produced x-ray spectra of Sm, Gd, and Dy were measured in the energy range 800-2300 eV. Atomic self-consistent-field calculations were used to identify the transitions in ions stripped to the shell for the Gd spectra. This work extends the Ni I isoelectronic sequence to rare-earth elements.
