ON MEASURING ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE IN SITU IN HIGHER PLANTS

Abstract
Simple but fundamental electrical calculations for resistance are reviewed with a view to their application in studies of plant tissue. The relationship of resistance to ion mobility, to temperature, to specific resistance, and to complex tissue is discussed. It would appear that the specific resistance of complex tissue is largely a measure of the resistances of the cell-wall interstices under ordinary conditions.Keywords
