Abstract
High‐resolution infrared spectra of crystalline ethylene and fully deuterated ethylene have been obtained. Accurate frequencies of all band components observed at 65°K are presented. Appearance of one gas‐phase inactive fundamental in the crystal spectrum, and the structures of certain multiplets, shows that the presently accepted crystal structure is not correct. This conclusion is in agreement with that from a previous study under lower resolution. Keywords
