Abstract
The objective characteristics of medical care actually chosen by a representative sample of a state''s actively practicing Doctors of Medicine for themselves and their families are described. Generally physicians used are highly specialized, Diplomates of their respective American Boards, and frequently on the faculty of a Medical School. The suggestion is made that they represent the characteristics of medical care of high quality and that they may be used as guide lines by less sophisticated choosers who wish care of comparable quality. Keywords
