Abstract
The satellite structure in the x-ray photoelectron spectra of Pb(II) halides has been measured, particular attention being paid to , , and metal subshells. On the basis of band-structure calculations on the Pb and with the absence of phenomena due to multiplet splitting, these satellites are assigned to transitions between the valence-band levels and the conduction bands.
