Abstract
OCTOSPINIFEROIDES chandleri is tentatively described on the basis of 2 imma-ture females taken from the Gulf killifish (Fundulus grandis) at Gil-christ, Texas. This form differs from members of the genus Octo-spinifer in the shape and size of the proboscis hooks, body shape, position of female genital opening, and the nature of the receptacle wall. No additional collection of this parasite was made from over 700 cyprinodontid fishes examined. Other acanthocephalans found in these fish were: Atactorhynchus verecundus, Floridosentis elongatus, Telosentis tenuicornis, and Arhythmorhynchus duocinctus.
