Abstract
The present study showed that cardiac arrhythmias associated with disturbances in impulse formation (sinus arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation, ectopic rhythms) and in impulse conduction (A-V [arterioventricular] block, electrical alternans) occur in the rat. The occurrence of these arrhythmias was affected by age and by excerise in a manner generally similar to that observed in man. Thus it appears that the rat may well prove to be a useful experimental animal for the study of naturally occurring cardiac arrhythmias and their modification. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
