Abstract
The daily oral adm. of 8 mg. of choline hydrochloride to 4 dogs in which polycythemia was induced by exposure for 6 hrs. daily to a reduced atmospheric pressure, caused prompt reduction of the red blood cell counts, hemoglobin and reticulocyte %. The same daily dose of choline reduced the erythrocyte numbers of 3 dogs in which polycythemia was induced by the daily oral adm. of 8 mgm. of cobaltous chloride. The feeding of raw hog or beef liver in doses of 75 g. per day to 3 dogs reduced the polycythemia caused by daily exposure to low atmospheric pressure. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
