Abstract
Diethylstilboestrol showed estro-genic activity, the avg. ovarian wt. being 28 mg. when substance was used alone and 103 mg. when combined with Antuitrin "S," compared with 7 mg. in the untreated hypophysectomized controls. Estradiol dipropionate gave an avg. ovarian wt. of 13 mg. when used alone and 21 mg. with Antuitrin "S,'' a value not significantly greater than when used alone, while testosterone propionate was without effect in either case. The crystalline hormones were compressed into pellets and inserted under the skin. The avg. daily absorption of diethylstilboestrol varied from 130 to 170 [gamma] and from 40 to 63 [gamma] for estradiol dipropionate. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
