Abstract
Bulk density of woody peats is linearly related to the degree of decomposition determined by the von Post method. It increased by 0.02 g/cm3 for each degree of the von Post scale. Within the scale bulk density ranged from 0.07 g/cm3 in undecomposed peats to 0.23 g/cm3 in well decomposed peats. Keywords
