Abstract
Spermatozoan motility at 5[degree]C was as satisfactory in extenders composed of 3 parts of a 2.9% Na citrate dihydrate buffer containing 0.4% of succinylsulfathiazole or 0.4% succinylsulfanilamide and 1 part of liquid whole egg as in the standard 2.9% citrate-sulfanilamide-yolk extender. The costs of the whole egg extenders were approx. 25% of that of the yolk extender. The former could be prepd. more quickly and glassware coming in contact with them was much easier to clean. The spermatozoa were more visible and more active in the whole-egg extenders, thereby facilitating microscopic examinations. Keywords
