Abstract
Analytic expressions are obtained for direct and exchange penetration energies, corrections to polarization energies, and nonadiabatic corrections in high-angular-momentum Rydberg states. It is found that exchange energies and corrections to polarization energies are of comparable magnitude to that of the direct term and must be included in the analysis of these states. Keywords
