Abstract
The detection and quantification of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) and the organochlorine insecticides (OCL) γ‐HCH, aldrin, dieldrin and endrin in complex sample matrices have been evaluated using packed column gas chromatography (PGC), capillary column gas chromatography (CGC) and capillary column gas chromatography/ mass spectrometry (GC/MS). A selection of forty complex sewage sludge samples has been analysed using these techniques and the results were found to differ significantly between the three methods. It is concluded that CGC is the optimum procedure for the accurate analysis of these residues in complex samples. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
