Width of the6−,T=1,Ex=14.36MeV state inSi28and its relationship to intermediate energy inelastic scattering

Abstract
The width of the 6, T=1, Ex=14.36 MeV state in Si28 has been measured via the Al27(p,p)Al27 reaction. The value of Γ=3.7±0.4 keV yields a single particle fraction β12=0.68±0.07 which is shown to be consistent with the combined results for the inelastic excitation of this state by π±, p, and e and the Al27(He3,d)Si28 (g.s.) reaction.
