Abstract
Contrary to previous reports, evidence has been presented which indicates that Xan-b61, a Xantha mutant of barley, does not have an auxotrophic requirement for leucine. It has been shown that this mutant, when grown under appropriate conditions in the absence of leucine, will synthesize leucine and will continue to grow for an extended period of time. Keywords
