Abstract
In 8 albino rats the abdominal sympathetic chains and much of the thoracic chains including the stellate ganglia were removed; the left adrenal was denervated and the right removed. Analysis of 179 determinations of the basal metabolic rates in these animals failed to show any change in the metabolic levels after any stage of sympa-thectomy. The calorigenic responses to injected adrenaline (0.0037-0.03 mgm. per kgm.) were likewise unaltered. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
