Abstract
The integrated polarized ( wave) Raman scattering intensity from liquid has been computed using the same Jastrow ground-state and hypernetted-chain approximation earlier used to calculate the depolarized ( wave) scattering. The result agrees with an earlier phenomenological estimate using ultraviolet data by Kleban and Halley. We discuss the possible use of similar approximations to compute moments of the ultraviolet absorption line shape.
