Abstract
A simple fractal time model is presented for relaxation in condensed matter and theoretical investigation shows that the 'anomalous' relaxation in condensed matter is the result of the breakdown of the adiabatic approximation and one needs three different time scales to describe an intermittent relaxation process instead of a continuous relaxation process. The present model can not only give the stretched exponential relaxation exp(-(t/ tau )beta ) naturally, but also explain the observed time scaling behaviour of beta .Keywords
