Abstract
Following transurethral resection of the opening of a large bladder diverticulum a 62-year-old man was in complete urinary retention. The reason was the considerable vent created by altering the hydrodynamics. The complication was resolved only after conventional vesical diverticulectomy. A warning is issued against the use of transurethral treatment of large bladder diverticula. Keywords
