Abstract
The existence of guided and surface electron drift waves in magnetoactive plasmas is demonstrated. The conditions for each of these modes to exist are found It is shown that the surface mode is unstable if the gradients of the plasma density and of the externally applied dc magnetic field are parallel within a localized region of the plasma. Keywords
